Language/s: English

In Old Japan lives Norihei, son of a farmer. He saves and befriends Kyuchan, who turns out to be a kappa, a mythical aquatic creature. While mindful that other human beings are out to exploit the fact that Kyu-chan is ‘different’, the two friends protect each other until the time that Kyu-chan gives Norihei a crystal necklace shaped like a water drop as a parting gift, as his family has to move away. They find each other more than twenty years later when an unfortunate accident makes Nori-bo drop the crystal necklace into a stream to call his friend for help.
